Goodwill Project Details
Social Media / Facebook
1)    Develop a content strategy for their two Facebook pages:
- DC Goodwill (Goodwill mission), https://www.facebook.com/DCGoodwill
- DC Goodwill Fashionista (fashion focus), https://www.facebook.com/theDCGF
2)    Develop a set of branded “looks” for social media graphics & content.
The objective is to develop a simple graphic branding system that is: visually intriguing, easy to create (1-5 minutes/ image), and falls within our current branding (Retail Store, Corporate Branding). The designs can vary from content categories (EX. Shopping, Success Stories, Job Training/ Workforce Development, Fashion…). This can consist of photo filters, graphics, photo angles/ types of images used, etc.
3)    Mission Focused Infographics to be shared via social media and through print mediums. The project is to create create a couple of informational graphics that exemplify the mission of Goodwill, and show how a donation turns into helping individuals gain employment. Goodwill is seen as thrift store that takes donations and sells them for profit. The goal is to expose their free training programs and employment services that help people with disabilities and disadvantages.

Donor Thank You Card
Every year Goodwill sends a “Thank You” card to all of their donors, both individual donors and corporate. These cards will be mailed around Thanksgiving because it is the time of giving thanks.

About Goodwill of Greater Washington

 Goodwill Project Details

1) Workforce Development Program Collateral
This Project involves Goodwill’s training programs and disability services. There are multiple aspects to this project including single sheet flyers and tri-fold brochures. There are 5 five programs that will need current collateral updated and new collateral created.

These will be used for potential training program funders, potential employers (businesses that will higher our students) and to promote the training programs to the general public. We are looking for a unified package that will integrate seamlessly within our current branding.

 2) Semi Annual Newsletter Template
This project is to create a newsletter template in Adobe InDesign for our semi-annual RISE newsletter. This newsletter is for internal use and keeps Goodwill employees in the loop on current events and company updates.

3) Best Kept Buildings Website Redesign
This project is to redesign the existing Best Kept Buildings website. The current website has very little traffic and its sole purpose is to attract/ inform potential funders and contract sites. This is a very small site and its content is to inform and encourage further interaction.

The current state of the site is a static HTML website. We are looking for a design that will not only update its visual appearance, but also have effective navigation and landing pages.

Participating Non-Profit Organization: Athletes Without Limits

About Athletes Without Limits
Their mission is to promote inclusivity
in sport for all, especially those with intellectual disability.

Athletes Without Limits began with one athlete who wouldn’t let intellectual disability stand in the way of his quest to become a world champion. In two years, we’ve grown to five sports and an ever-increasing number of athletes with a shared dream to reach the highest levels in sports. Here in the US, Athletes Without Limits helps athletes identify coaching, training and competition opportunities at the national, regional and local level with a focus on the integration of athletes with intellectual disability into mainstream sport.

Good by Design Project Details

1) New Website header/banner
The web banner needs to be new, different and exciting. It should reflect a clean, uncluttered look that emphasizes the athletes, not their disability. We want people to see what our athletes do and say to themselves, “I don’t have a disability and I couldn’t do that!” And we want younger/new athletes to aspire to do what they see.  The main goal of the website is to attract potential athletes and new donors.

2) Social Media: Facebook banner image and Twitter skin
The social media sites should reflect the design of the home page banner. We want people to see what our athletes do and say to themselves, “I don’t have a disability and I couldn’t do that!” And we want younger/new athletes to aspire to do what they see.  The main goal of the website is to attract potential athletes and new donors.

3) E-mail Templates, One Newsletter Format and One Fundraising Format
This project is needed to create two e-mail templates in html for external communications with athletes, supporters and donors. Template one should be a newsletter format and template two should be a fundraising template. Athletes Without Limits use Mail Chimp as their e-mail provider.

4) Print Banner for Expos and Events
The web banner needs to be new, different and exciting. It should reflect a clean, uncluttered look that emphasizes the athletes, not their disability. We want people to see what our athletes do and say to themselves, “I don’t have a disability and I couldn’t do that!” And we want younger/new athletes to aspire to do what they see.  The main goal of the website is to attract potential athletes and new donors. Banner should mirror/reflect the web banner to have a cohesive, inspirational look.
